Boston Celtics (5/4) - No surprise here as the Boston Celtics have been the clear cut favourite to win the Eastern Conference since day 1 of the NBA season. I am predicting the Boston Celtics will once again win the NBA's Eastern Conference this season. Adding some depth in the off-season in the form of Rasheed Wallace, and veterans such as Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett still playing at a very high level, it would be no surprise to be to see the Celtics crowned as East champs once again. Staying healthy has been a problem for the Celtics this season which could affect their durability in the post season, but for the regular season this team has both the talent and depth to take home the East Championship for the 2nd consecutive season. A downfall to betting on the Celtics is a smaller payout, a $10 bet on the Celtics to win the NBA Eastern Conference Championship pays out $22.50 at Bodog.com.
Cleveland Cavaliers (2/1) - My second choice for winning the Eastern Conference Championship is the high-powered Cleveland Cavaliers. After a disappointing end to the 2008/2009 season, the Cavs had added some depth up front in Shaquille O'Neal, and will always remain as a legitimate contender as long as Lebron James is wearing a Cleveland jersey. The Cavaliers have seen inspired performances from Delonte West and big Zyndrunus Ilgauskas this season, and could very well have the team to make a serious run in this year's NBA playoffs.
